Background Information
The Tuskegee study is a true event that occurred in 1932 in Macon County, Alabama in which African Americans were promised treatment for “bad blood.” This study was marred by numerous ethical misconducts. Events such as the Tuskegee study, the Nuremberg trials, and other unethical research practices led to the creation of The Nuremberg Code and The Belmont Report. The principles in these documents were created to protect participants from unethical research practices. Medical And Research Ethics Discussion Paper
